More Hilarity, from a Fellow Blogger

I found another blog while surfing around friends' facebook pages earlier today, and it had me grinning after but a few posts. It is an interesting twist on photos of modern architecture and interior design. You know what photos I'm talking about. The ones you see in magazines and websites, that you look at and think "That's interesting but I don't think I could really live in a house that looks like that. It just looks like a cold, modern art museum display."

Here's a little preview...

Not on the grass, Sweetie. Never. On. The. Grass. See how much fun Daddy is having?

Flipping the pages hurriedly, he sensed that the potted plants were advancing.

Snow Days!

Today I got a call at 7:00 in the morning. It was one of my cooperating teachers for student teaching calling to tell me that Delaware City schools were closed, so the Early Childhood Center (the school I am currently teaching at), would be closed as well.
Those two glorious words popped into my head, the ones you always hope for as a kid, the ones that mean a whole day free, romps in the snow, sledding down the hill, tall, white snow forts, prints of angles, wet, glorious snowball fights, the birth of a snowman in the yard, and warm hot chocolate with sweet marshmallows.

SNOW DAY!!!

And to a college girl, this also meant some time to catch up on some extra seminar work that had been building up.

Then, at 10:00 tonight, I got another call. The Delaware City schools were calling off once again, and yet again those two words hung in the air:

SnoW dAy...

A blessed break in the middle of a crazy week...an unexpected extra weekend in some ways.
Still, the week will be more crazy and rushed as the week starts up once again. Snow days are all well and good, and can be quite restful, but unfortunately, on the teacher's end, they really start to back up plans. Ah well, one of the virtues of the teacher is to always be flexible.

Just this past Friday and Saturday we got 6-8 inches of snow, then this new snow storm blew in and gave us the snow days.
The first two pictures in this post are from Friday during the first snow. The rest are from Saturday morning when Kaleigh, Megan, and I walked into town for a bite to eat.
Delaware in the wintertime can be really very beautiful...
